Customer Care & Project Officer
Work model: primarily remote, with occasional on-site work at our Warsaw office (project meetings, workshops, partner sessions) and in international meetings (mostly inside Europe)
Type: 4-5 days per week.
Scope: (inter)national projects and strategic partnerships in the cybersecurity community.
Role Overview
Cybersecurity Foundation (Fundacja Bezpieczna Cyberprzestrzeń, FBC) is looking for a Customer Care & Project Officer to run cybersecurity related, community oriented projects & contribute to customer care processes – all of this in Poland as well as internationally with our strategic partners. This is a role that requires initiative and enthousiasm – as well as some degree of modesty and a good sense of humour as it is community serving. You need to be able and enjoy to work in our team as well as independent as most of the work is done remote. You are accountable for your support work and the projects involved.
You work closely with FBC experts and our partners (especially the Open CSIRT Foundation or OCF), ensuring delivery quality, timelines, alignment, and clear communication in our diverse and international environment. Our goal is to improve the state of cybersecurity in Poland and worldwide.
What you will do:
- Contribute to customer care. We run international community projects with a small team and this means we cannot afford to specialise too much: you will be expected to do your part, and also back-up for others if/when needed. You need to be a teamplayer and understand that all work includes both inspiring as well as repetitive admin jobs.
- Run projects from beginning to end, making sure they operate smoothly by co-ordinating them properly, timely but also creatively and with a good sense of humour: our international cybersecurity crowd is a very friendly, but also demanding community as there are many players with different cultures and backgrounds. The highly experienced leaders of FBC (and OCF) will support you in growing into this role, but you do need to feel comfortable and experienced enough to take responsibility from day one.
- Coordinate co-operation with strategic partners: organise meetings and workshops, align scope and timelines, report on progress.
- As part of your job you will work with mostly volunteer board members and other volunteers: all highly experienced professionals from whom you can learn a lot, but who regularly lack time and therefore will really appreciate your guiding support.
- You need to be highly organised: documentation, status reporting, decision logs, action tracking – and when running projects, understanding and tracking the dependencies.
- Our mission is to support the cybersecurity community in a complicated world, with crime and conflicts. Therefore we need to be able to 100% trust you, and accountability and confidentiality are key. In short: high professional ethics.
- You are very welcome to propose and help us do things better – this role expects not just execution, but also motivation and initiative.
Requirements
- Proven experience in customer care, preferably in smaller environments where flexibility was key.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in multi-stakeholder settings.
- Effective understanding of cybersecurity topics, sufficient in order to work effectively with technical experts and understand project context.
- Ability to listen to and speak English very well – and good reading & writing ability.
- Mature; independent but also a teamplayer; resourceful; creative; but also willing to do the chores that come up without complaints.
- Good communicator, structured, able to get things done also when time is scarce.
- Willingness to travel inside and outside Poland.
Nice to have
- Experience in a CSIRT, SOC or ISAC environment.
- Track record of working in (inter)national customer care and/or projects.
